Parents wanting a clear picture of Bexley’s best secondary schools now have a new resource, after School Guide published its latest rankings.
The independent website has released its newest list of the borough’s highest-rated state secondary schools using official government performance data, Ofsted reports and parent reviews.
Unlike league tables based on a single measure, School Guide combines GCSE results, attendance figures and feedback from families to produce an overall score for each school.
Leading the Bexley list this year is Bexley Grammar School in Welling, which achieved one of the highest overall ratings in the borough.
In its last inspection in November 2022, the school on Danson Lane was rated Outstanding by inspectors.
GCSE results are consistently among the best in the borough, and high attendance reflects strong engagement from both pupils and families.
The school has performed strongly across a range of measures, getting both academic outcomes and positive feedback from parents.
Most schools in the top 10 were rated Good or Outstanding at their last inspection, many of which took place before Ofsted scrapped its one-word grading system in September 2024.
School Guide says its rankings are designed to give families a simple snapshot of how schools perform locally using publicly available data rather than opinion alone.
These are the 10 highest-rated secondary schools in Bexley according to School Guide:
1. Bexley Grammar School, Welling
2. Townley Grammar School, Bexleyheath
