Search the Public Notice PortalPlans have been submitted to turn a former pub in Lewisham into a 10-bed co-living house in multiple occupation (HMO).
Plans put forward to Lewisham Council by Eastfield Architecture & Construction Ltd on behalf of Eastfield Investments Ltd outline proposals to convert the former Ravensbourne Arms pub in Lewisham High Street into a HMO.
Under the plans, the pub would be converted to ten en-suite rooms on the ground floor, each with a double bed, kitchenette, seating area and private shower room.
Plans would also add a shared communal kitchen and dining area measuring 32 square metres alongside a small courtyard.
The basement of the building would retain a shared-use function with a cinema room, co-working space, laundry and utility rooms if plans were approved.
External work proposed by developers includes refurbishing the building’s exterior façade, replacing unneeded doors with timber sash windows and restoring missing letters on the “Ravensbourne Arms” sign whilst retaining the historic “Coach and Horses” sign.
All works would be contained within the existing building footprint, with no extensions or additional storeys proposed.
Dating back to 1874, the historic building began life as the Coach and Horses pub.
The current building dates from a later rebuild in the mid-1930s and was later renamed The Ravensbourne Arms in 2011.
The pub closed its doors in October 2016 and was later listed as an asset of community value in 2017 but was removed the following year following a council review.
