A 21-year-old man who escaped from custody while under guard at hospital in Lewisham has been arrested in France.
At around 8.18pm on Monday, March 2, Daniel Boakye was detained in La Bouëxière on suspicion of escaping lawful custody.
His arrest followed a joint operation involving the Metropolitan Police, the National Crime Agency and French law enforcement partners.
He was taken to hospital for medical treatment when he left police custody on Sunday, February 15.
Officers gave chase but were unable to detain him before he left the area.
Police believe he may have been smuggled out of the UK in a lorry following the incident.
Arrangements are now underway to return him to the UK.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify anyone who may have assisted him.
Boakye, who performs music under the name DSAVV, has released tracks on streaming platforms.
