A pub in Welling has reopened with a new landlord and a complete refresh inside and out.
The Plough and Harrow, on Bellegrove Road, came under scrutiny in October 2025 when its former landlord was jailed for installing a camera above the urinals to secretly film men.
The News Shopper previously revealed that Ron Hall, who was running the pub at the time, used the device between February and December last year to capture 106 voyeuristic videos of 16 unidentified men.

New landlord Luke Rooke, from Sidcup, says the venue is now under a completely new team and has undergone an extensive refurbishment, both internally and externally.

Luke told the News Shopper: “We refurbed the pub for six weeks, and our opening day was when the story about the old landlord came out.
“The pub is doing a lot better than I anticipated - there’s only a Wetherspoon's here.

“I grew up in Welling, so I know the area quite well.
“It’s a nice pub; the clientele has been really good.”
Luke is no stranger to the trade, managing several other pubs across south east London, including the Abbey Arms in Abbey Wood, The Star in Plumstead, The Royal Standard in Belvedere, and The Cricketers in Orpington.

Now he’s taking on the Plough and Harrow, which has reopened with new staff - including a new kitchen team - and a brand-new look throughout.
Luke added: “We’ve had a complete refurbishment – all new products, a new garden room, and a main back garden coming next year.”

On Thursday, October 9, Hall was jailed for nine months after pleading guilty to 32 counts of voyeurism.
Prosecutor Colette Hanna said the National Crime Agency became aware in April 2024 that Hall was uploading voyeuristic images to Dropbox.

He was arrested at the pub on December 17 last year, and police later recovered images on his phone taken from a camera hidden in the men’s toilets.
Luke confirmed that the Plough and Harrow now has “nothing to do” with the former owners.

The Plough and Harrow will now host events such as karaoke nights and darts, along with a new food and drink menu.
