Two neighbourhoods in North Kent with easy access to London by train have been named as some of the most affordable to live.
Gravesend and Dartford in North Kent were named by reallymoving according to new data, along with an interactive map highlighting some of the most affordable areas to live in and around London.
Gravesend ranked in second place on the list, with 98 per cent of one-bed properties available with a budget of £315,000 and 97 per cent of two-bed properties available with a budget of £420,000.
Dartford followed close behind in fourth position, with 96 per cent of one-bed properties available with a budget of £315,000 and 92 per cent of 2-bed properties available with a budget of £420,000.
One thing that both Gravesend and Dartford offer would-be homeowners is easy links to the city via public transport, with a train to London Bridge from Dartford taking just 40 minutes, or 55 minutes from Gravesend.
Gravesend and Dartford also have two Outstanding-rated schools within a three-mile radius – Dartford Grammar School and Wilmington Academy.
The area also has a number of popular attractions including Dartford’s Orchard West Theatre, which hosts a variety of popular touring shows along with gigs and comedy nights, and Bluewater Shopping Centre with 300 stores and counting.
For parks and greenspaces, Dartford currently has one Green Flag awarded Nature Trail at Bluewater Shopping Centre and Dartford’s Central Park is one of the areas most popular with a 4.4 rating on TripAdvisor.
Speaking on the data reallymoving CEO Rob Houghton said: “First Time Buyers will find the greatest choice of properties by looking east towards East London, Essex and Kent, with affordability hotspots such as Purfleet, Gravesend and Watford all commutable by train into central London within 30 minutes.
