You may not know that an EastEnders star who plays a teenager in the soap is from Bromley.
Born in Bromley in 2005, English actress Ellie Dadd at D&B Academy of Performing Arts before gaining national recognition in the BBC soap EastEnders.
Ellie was cast as Amy Mitchell, replacing Abbie Burke in 2022 at the age of 17.
Ellie has been on the show since 2022, taking on serious and sensitive storylines.
In 2024, Ellie was involved in numerous storylines, most notably as a victim of the Peggy’s Nightclub crush.
Her character suffered severe injuries, including a cardiac arrest and a broken pelvis, resulting in hospitalisation.
Despite Ellie being 20 years old, Amy Mitchell is 16 years old in the soap.
Before EastEnders, Ellie made her debut as Sophia in a short film titled Lipstick in 2013, where she played the character Sophia, a sister who has to deal with the death of her grandmother.
In 2016, Ellie played Amanda Thripp in the West End production of Matilda the Musical.
When she was 15, she was recognised by the BBC and appeared in two episodes of Silent Witness as the character Cat Shaw.
