A GROUP of anglers has won this years Bexley Environmental Challenge award.
Lamorbey Angling Society won the top prize and £750 in prize money for the work it has done to restore Lamorbey Lake in Sidcup.
Society members worked with Bexley Council and the Environment Agency to dramatically improve the lake and its surroundings.
They repaired eroded banks, planted native plants in and around the lake to provide new habitats for mammals, birds, fish and invertebrates.
As well as creating a healthier lake for fishing, its has also improved conditions for wildlife and the for the public to enjoy.
This years competition attracted 42 entries and more than 250 people to the awards ceremony.
