A family-run restaurant in Orpington is celebrating winning its third national award this year – with a new branch set to open in Swanley.
The Bombay in Orpington won the award for the Best Restaurant - London Suburbs category at the Asian Curry Awards 2024.
The restaurant has been part of Orpington for 40 years since first opening in 1984 and is run by three brothers - Kobir, Shah and Mj Hussain - who took on the management from their uncle who founded the business.
Curry Life Awards and Best Restaurant in South East England at the Bangladesh Caterers Awards, both won in October.

They also offer four unique dining spaces, including a jungle-inspired area for families and a more formal area for events and parties.
restaurants in the south London area to receive an award at the ceremony, which took place on November 17, hosted by presenter Samantha Simmonds with finalists from 16 categories in attendance.

The Chairman of the Asian Catering Federation, Yawar Khan, said: “The Bombay restaurant in Orpington is this year winner for the best restaurant London suburbs. This restaurant has worked really hard to win this amazing award. I can say they well deserved this award.”
The restaurant is also set to open a new branch in Swanley in the new year, marking the business' second restaurant in the south east London area.
Speaking on there recent success, Miahjahan Miah said: “ I am truly humbled and honored to win not one, not two, but three prestigious awards.
