A new chicken restaurant is set to open its doors at the O2 Arena in North Greenwich TODAY.
Slim Chickens, known for its buttermilk tenders, sandwiches, and wings, will open its 54th UK branch at 11am today (September 19), and the first 50 guests will receive free chicken tenders.
The American chain, which started in Arkansas, is known for its "fresh, Southern-inspired dishes".
Its menu features hand-breaded, buttermilk-marinated chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, wraps, and salads.
There are also plant-based options and a choice of 13 dipping sauces.
The new restaurant at The O2 will have space for more than 90 diners and will also offer takeaway and delivery services.
The opening of the new branch has created 70 jobs in the area.
Ben Blore, head of operations at Slim Chickens, said: "I want to express my sincere gratitude to the incredible team at The O2 site and our openings team for making all this possible.
"Their hard work and dedication allow our sites to open and deliver fresh, cooked-to-order chicken every time, ensuring the best experience for our guests."
To celebrate the opening, the chain will be giving away "golden tickets" in-store, which will give customers the chance to win a variety of prizes, including a year's supply of free food.
The first 5,000 customers will receive a scratch card with every order, each guaranteeing a discount or free food, and one lucky guest will win free Slims for a year.
Customers can also download the Slim Chickens app for weekly offers and a loyalty card for a free meal after five stamps.
Janine Constantin-Russell, managing director at the Entertainment District and Outlet Shopping at The O2, said: "We’re thrilled to be welcoming Slim Chickens to The O2, and to be adding another household name brand to our evolving F&B offering.
"We have no doubt that their delicious Southern-inspired dishes will be a top choice for our visitors, whether they’re looking for a quick bite before a show, or a tasty meal after enjoying some outlet shopping."
The O2 branch will be the latest addition to the chain's UK locations, which are spread across the country.
