A man has been arrested after a crash between a car and a police vehicle during a car chase in Greenwich.
The crash occurred at around 3.30pm yesterday (Saturday, August 31) on Riefield Road.
Police have confirmed that the car had false plates and no injuries were reported.
The driver was arrested and remains in custody.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “At approximately 15:30hrs on Saturday, 31 August a collision involving a car and a police vehicle occurred on Riefield Road, SE9.
“The car – which was on false plates – was being pursued by police at the time of the collision.
“There were no reports of any injuries.
“The driver of the car – a man (no further details) – was arrested and remains in police custody.
“Road closures are in place while the scene is dealt with.
“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
