It's finally Spring!

London is set to get warmer over the coming days as weather forecasters predict a soar in temperatures.

The mini 'heatwave' will see warmer temperatures with an average of around 23C across most of the week along with sunny skies.

It comes after the recent May Day bank holiday saw a dark wet day for much of the region, but now things are on the turn.

London weather: 'Mini heatwave' to hit the capital

Starting as early as Wednesday, May 8, temperatures will reach 20C with cloudy but sunny skies.

Moving further into the rest of the week, the heat will be turned up as Friday, May 10 hits 10C and both Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 hits 24C.

Away from warm temperatures, there will also be very little rain and wind according to the Met Office as much of the week has a chance of precipitation below 5%.

The skies will be a mix of sunshine and cloud with Saturday starting sunny and cloud-free before some clouds appear but the sun will still be out.

The Met Office shares that on Wednesday you can expect: "Any early mist, fog and low cloud will burn back to the coast leaving a fine, dry day with long spells of sunshine and mostly light winds. Warm inland. Maximum temperature 21 °C."

Elsewhere towards the weekend, the forecaster adds: "A good deal of fine and dry weather, with variable cloud and sunny spells throughout.

"Some mist and fog patches each morning. Warm away from the coast."
