A court has ordered the destruction of a Bromley man’s sound system following noise complaints.

Charles Campbell-Williams, 50, of Freelands Road appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday (April 23).

He had previously been served with an abatement notice warning him to reduce the volume and bass of his music so it didn’t cause a nuisance to local residents, court documents state.

But Bromley Council brought a prosecution against him alleging he failed to comply with this notice by playing loud music on September 1, 2, 3 and 5 last year.

Campbell-Williams pleaded guilty to the four charges on Tuesday and was given a conditional discharge.

But District Judge Lucy Corrin also ordered that Campbell-Williams' sound system should be forfeited and destroyed to prevent re-offending.

Court documents state that the equipment to be forfeited and destroyed include two LG sound bars, two LG tower speakers, four Logitech speakers and two LG sub woofers.
