DRUGS and a machete were found in a car which was captured crashing into a garden wall in Lye.

The car crashed on Green Lane with two youths getting out and running off carrying items.

Police found a machete, cannabis and a Class A drug in the car and said their enquiries are ongoing.

Video shared online shows the car speeding along Green Lane and smashing into a garden wall, knocking bricks and bins flying.

Two youths get out of the mangled car and run off carrying items - one drops something on the floor as he flees.

The crash attracts the attention of residents as well as drinkers in the Fox Inn, who come out onto the street. 

Police said they are investigating the incident and appealed for anyone with information to get in touch. 

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called after a car crashed into a wall in Green Lane, Lye on Friday April 19 at around 5.20pm.

"No injuries were reported but the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene.

"A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a machete, a quantity of cannabis and a suspected class a drug.
