BUCKETS of water were used to put out a chimney fire near Ellesmere on Wednesday evening, Shropshire firefighters have said.
One crew from the town was sent to Oteley at around 3.40pm following reports of the chimney fire.
A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesman confirmed that the buckets were used as well as other vital bits of equipment.

They said: “Crews used buckets of water, chimney roads, a stirrup pump and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire.
“There was a fire in the chimney breast of a coal fire.

“Crews extinguished using a stirrup pump, buckets of water and chimney rods.
“A thermal imaging camera has been used to check the temperature within the chimney breast to ensure safe temperatures.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control at 5.44pm to confirm no further support was needed.
