100 litres of fuel were spilled onto a busy roundabout in Belvedere after a lorry toppled over shortly before rush hour.

After it toppled over, the 36-tonne lorry’s contents spilled out onto the ground.

The incident happened yesterday (Thursday, March 21) at around 4.15pm at Horse roundabout, where the A2016, B253 and Anderson Way meet.

No other cars were involved.

A photo shows the contents of the lorry spilling out onto the ground of the roundabout.

Other photos shared on social media show cones around the lorry so that traffic could drive around it as emergency services dealt with it.

In the photos, multiple police cars and a fire engine are visible at the scene of the lorry.

On social media, multiple residents in the area said that they drove past between 10.30pm and 11pm and still saw police at the incident trying to stand the lorry back up.
