A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash with a car in Greenwich.

The incident happened in Blackheath Road just before 12.30pm today (March 14).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a motorcyclist injured.

The rider was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition is unknown.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made.

Blackheath Road remains partially blocked which is causing delays in the area, according to AA.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "We were called at 12:29hrs on Thursday, 14 March to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorbike in Blackheath Road, Greenwich. 

"Officers responded with paramedics and the motorcyclist was taken to hospital.

"We await an update on his injuries. 

"The driver of the car stopped at the scene. 

"Enquiries are ongoing. There have been no arrests."
