A section 35 dispersal order has been authorised by police in a certain area of Thamesmead.
It has been in place since yesterday (March 1) and will finish at 4.45pm today (March 2).
The dispersal covers Cygnet Square, Nest Way, Kite Close, Tavy Bridge, and Yarnton Way from the roundabout at Harrow Manorway to the junction with Southmere Drive.
Section 35 gives a police constable and a community support officer in uniform the power to exclude a person from an area for a period of up to 48 hours with a police inspector’s authority.
It is unknown why the dispersal order is in place.
We have contacted Metropolitan Police for further information.
