London Ambulance Service has issued an update after a crash between a woman and moped in Bromley.

Emergency services were called to the junction pf Derry Downs and Chelsfield Road in Orpington yesterday (Wednesday, February 28) at around 1.30pm.

An ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

Medics were on the scene in less than three minutes.

A woman in her 60s was treated at the scene for a head injury before being taken to a major trauma centre.

Police ask that any witnesses call 101 quoting CAD 3561/28Feb.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.36pm yesterday (28 February) to reports of an incident at the junction of Derry Downs and Chelsfield Road, Orpington.

“We sent resources the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.

“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“Our first medics arrived on scene in less than three minutes.

“We treated a patient at the scene for a head injury before taking them to a major trauma centre.”

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "We were called at 13:32hrs on Wednesday, 28 February to reports of a collision involving a moped and a pedestrian at the junction of Rutland Way and Chelsfield Lane, St Mary Cray.

"Officers responded with paramedics and the pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

"Her next of kin have been informed. 

"The rider of the moped stopped at the scene. 

"Further enquiries are taking place to establish the circumstances and any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 3561/28Feb."
