Two people from south east London have been arrested following a serious crash on the A2 in Dartford which left one person seriously injured. 

A 35-year-old man from Bexleyheath and a 25-year-old woman from Walworth have been arrested today (February 20) after the crash on the A2 in Dartford on February 16.

Emergency services were called at around 10:40pm to the Watling Street coastbound carriageway on the A2 between the A296 and Ebbsfleet junctions.

Three cars were involved in the crash - a black Ford Fiesta, a blue Audi S3 and a blue MG HS.

One passenger in the Fiesta was taken to hospital by helicopter, where she remains in a serious condition.

A further two, the driver and a second passenger, were also injured and were later discharged.

The driver of the blue Audi S3, along with the female passenger, had left the scene before patrols arrived.

An investigation was launched by Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU).

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Officers are continuing to urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them if they have not yet spoken to the police.
