On Saturday night, I went to a cool, intimate restaurant in Mayfair for an evening of incredible food.

Sette by Scarpetta is based in Knightsbridge. The restaurant’s interior is dim and romantic, perfect for a date night or special occasion if you ask me.

All of the food on the menu looked mouth-watering to me, with everything you could ask for from pasta to octopus – it was so difficult to choose.

To start, I went for the seared Orkney scallops which came with cauliflower puree, roasted cauliflower and a capers dressing.

The scallops were soft and tender with the crunch of the cauliflower and capers complementing them perfectly.

I took my boyfriend with me who chose the crudo tasing plate which included salmon, sea bass and yellowtail which he felt was some of the best fish he’s ever had.

For my main course, I chose the lobster tagliolini, which can also be ordered in a smaller portion as a starter.

It came with fresno chilli, tomato and spicy basil breadcrumbs.

As someone who loves both lobster and pasta, I couldn’t resist this dish. It was full of flavour with meaty pieces of lobster dispersed throughout and the breadcrumbs added a crunchy texture I hadn’t had in a pasta before.

My boyfriend chose the john dory which is a white fish that came with fregola, clams, tomato and parsley.

The whole plate was light, fresh and delicious.

For dessert, I chose the gianduiotto which was gianduja chocolate with stracciatella ice cream.

I have to admit, this was the highlight of the evening for me.

The chocolate was dark, rich and creamy and the ice cream was sweet with a tasty crunch from the flakes of dark chocolate.

If you are a chocolate lover, I could not recommend this dessert more. Even if you eat nothing else, it’s worth going to Sette just for this plate.

My boyfriend also adored his dessert, he had the cassata siciliana which was a kind of pistachio sponge with ricotta and orange.

It was a super unique dessert and was a sweet, creamy treat if you want something lighter.

The staff were very helpful explaining the menu to us and making sure we had everything we wanted throughout the evening, making the evening all the more special.
