Urgent repair works in New Cross have cancelled and diverted a number of Southeastern and Thameslink trains.

The affect services include:

  • Southeastern between London Cannon Street and Dartford / Gravesend / Orpington
  • Thameslink between Luton and Rainham

Services normally running to London Cannon Street are currently being diverted to and from alternative London terminals whilst works are underway.

There are no services to and from London Charing Cross.

Tickets are eligible on London Underground, DLR and London Bus services.

According to National Rail, this is due to a fault in the signalling system between London and New Cross and Deptford, resulting in all lines being blocked.

Delays are currently expected to last until 3pm today.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to any passengers whose journeys are being impacted this afternoon as a result of a signalling issue between London Bridge and New Cross.

“Our engineers are onsite investigating the fault and there are currently no services to and from London Charing Cross while the line is closed to allow our engineers to safely make any repairs.

“We would like to thank passengers for their patience and understanding while we complete this urgent repair and encourage them to check with Southeastern for the latest travel advice and information on their services.”
