I tried Bill’s new Valentine’s set menu with brand new cocktails and mains.

The Valentine’s set menu features two courses, along with desserts and cocktails to try over the week of Valentine's Day.

Bill’s have launched the new set menu in collaboration with Passoã featuring two new cocktails.

The menu features some of their staples like the Chicken and Sesame Dumplings and Banoffee Pie Sundae, as well as new additions like their Valentine’s Day Brownie.

For £29.95 per person, you can get a two-course meal with a dessert for an additional £5 and two cocktails for £12.

It’s also dog-friendly, if you fancy bringing your pooch along for date night or a Galantine’s meal out with a dog friendly men.

The setting is cosy and intimate, located within a short walk of Greenwich Market and Greenwich Park, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal on a day out.

For drinks we both tried the Passionfruit Martini served with Wyborowa Vodka, Passoã passion fruit liqueur, passion fruit puree and pineapple juice.

The drink was very sweet and tropical with the pineapple and passion fruit, and was even topped with a decorative passion fruit slice.

For starters, we both tried the Fried Halloumi served with nigella seeds and drizzled with chilli honey and served with a creamy dipping sauce.

They were honestly delicious, the only way I can describe them is like crispy halloumi chunky fries with a crispy outside, and the chilli sauce gave them a little kick of sweetness.

For mains I chose the Truffle and Parmesan Mac and Cheese served with black truffle and parmesan and a little salad.

Mac and cheese is just like the ultimate comfort food and this was a very good one by all standards, it was made with breadcrumbs to give it a crunch and the truffle sauce gave it a real rich taste.

I’m honestly sad that this isn’t part of their regular menu, because I know this would be a dish I’d order time and time again, but I do hope it is added because it deserves to be a staple.

My mum tried the Creamy Mushroom Chicken served with chive mash, tenderstem broccoli and mushroom sauce.

She also said her main was a really “comforting” dish and that it would be something she’d order again if it was incorporated onto the regular menu.

Bill’s are very generous with portion sizes and this main was no exception, I wasn’t able to finish it all but was very grateful for the offer of a box to take away and eat the rest later on.

We did that classic thing of vowing not to have a dessert after all that food, but in true fashion when the waiter offered us the dessert menu I shared a look with my mother before agreeing to “have a look”, always code for yes.

For desserts, there were four different options to choose from including a sharing dessert. I decided to try the Valentine’s Brownie with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream, topped with a chocolate flake and heart sprinkles.

This dessert was very rich and indulgent, the sauce had a caramel taste to it and the dessert was gooey and warm with a dark chocolate taste.

My mum tried the Chocolate and Salted Caramel tarte with ice cream, which she enjoyed very much, especially the combination of flavours with the chocolate, caramel and coconut.

All in all, I think Bill’s have put on a varied and affordable menu for Valentine’s Day, if you’re looking for a date night idea next week.

Bill’s new Valentine’s menu will be available from February 9 until February 17 at all participating restaurants.
