I went to Napoli on the Road for an amazing six-course tasting menu, getting the chance to try some unique and experimental slices of pizza.

At the beginning of the evening, we were given a colourful cocktail which reminded me of a negroni, refreshing and hydrating me before starting my evening of delicious food.

The first course was truly like something I’ve never had before. It was a meatball with pesto spaghetti inside and a parmesan crisp on top.

While this might sound unusual, I can assure you it was absolutely scrumptious and I could have eaten five of them.

The next course was a slice of Napoli on the Road’s renowned pizza.

It was topped with mushrooms, truffle and egg yolk making it a luxurious slice like nothing I have ever tried before.

The third course was just as unique. I personally had never has fish on a pizza before so I was very intrigued.

This slice was topped with cod, sundried tomatoes, potatoes and dabs of mayonnaise.

If you are looking for something different then this is the pizza for you and while it might not be traditional, I felt that the fish on pizza really worked.

The fourth course was a tasty sandwich. The bread was quite thin which meant it wasn’t too stodgy and the fillings of high-quality prosciutto, cheese and spinach were salty and delicious.

For the fifth course, we moved onto something more traditional and enjoyed a slice topped with chorizo and sweet, chilli sauce.

This was much more like a classic type of pizza but the sauce still gave it a fun twist to make it stand out from your average pepperoni pizza.

Of course, the evening wouldn’t be finished without dessert.

We were given a light, spongey cake soaked in rum with cream running through the centre – a sweet and boozy dessert.

Throughout the evening, we were given red or white wine which the attentive waiters topped up as they brought the different courses round.

Napoli on the Road is quite a small, intimate restaurant just a few minutes away from Turnham Green station but there is also a location in Richmond as well.

It’s a cute, cosy restaurant with bottles of red wine lining one of the walls, I would recommend to anyone looking for high quality pizza.
