It’s hard for mini golf not to be fun, but it’s especially fun when there’s courses to choose from, great food and enough bars and cocktails to last you a lifetime.

I went to Swingers in the West End, the perfect spot for date night, friends, post-work fun with colleagues and everything in between.

There are three courses – one based on a helter skelter, another based on the big wheel and another on the meteorite.

Each hole ranges in difficulty, and you get a score card so that you can play against your opponents and make sure you record who is the rightful winner (and loser of course!)

Swingers in the West End is open every day apart from Monday, you can book or hope for some walk-in slots available for golf, or just go and enjoy the food and drink without creating some healthy competition with your mates.

I went with my boyfriend, cousin and his girlfriend and it was such a great place for a good laugh and catch up after having not seen them for a while.

Our booking was at 8pm but we got there a bit early to have a couple of drinks before we played – call it Dutch courage!

The drinks menu is so extensive – with pretty much anything you could fancy or imagine on there – and the cocktails were especially worthy of note.

A personal favourite was the frozen strawberry daquiri, which was really refreshing whilst also alcoholic at the same time.

We had a table booked which was really useful to give us a ‘base’ while we were there, and one we could then come back to after we played.

We each got given a golf club and we got one ball between us – and we made our way around the nine-hole course.

We played individually, and had a competition as couples, and I’ll choose not to let you all know where I was placed.

It was honestly SO much fun, each hole was different and got progressively more difficult, and we didn’t stop smiling and laughing.

The best part was that you can order drinks to your hole as you go round, so luckily for those in last place, you’re never too sober to be upset – not talking from experience, of course.

After our round of golf we went back from our table where we ordered some food from the vendors to share.

We got a slice of pizza each from Pizza Pilgrims and some Patty & Bun chips, along with a couple more drinks to end our evening.

I couldn’t recommend it enough for a fun night out where you really fancy a laugh, and where you have to promise not to sulk if you come last, again, not talking from experience…
