A woman in her 50s has been taken to hospital after a crash in Catford.

The incident between a pedestrian and a bus happened in Rushey Green just before 5.50pm yesterday (January 26).

Officers were called to the scene and found a woman with an injury to her leg.

She was taken to hospital for treatment where her condition was initially unknown. 

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police confirmed today (January 27) that her injuries were assessed as not life-threatening. 

The driver of the bus stopped at the scene.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "We were called at 5.48pm on Friday, January 26, to reports of a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian in Rushey Green, SE6. Officers were on scene within two minutes. The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital with a leg injury.

"We await an update on her condition. The driver of the bus stopped at the scene.

"Road closures are in place and drivers are urged to find an alternative route due to disruption in the area.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 5526/26Jan."
