I went to a glamorous London steak house overlooking a casino for an incredible dinner.

Heliot Steak House in Leicester Square can be found in the Hippodrome Casino, sharing a building with the Magic Mike stage show.

Overlooking the casino was a really fun and unique way to enjoy dinner, I don’t think I’ve sat in a restaurant anything like Heliot Steak House before.

While this spot is known for its steak, the menu us varied with plenty of other options as well if steak isn’t your thing.

As we perused the menu, we were brough some warm, fluffy bread to munch on.

To start, I chose the octopus with grilled new potatoes, fava beans and chilli.

While octopus can sometimes be chewy or rubbery, this was perfectly cooked, tender and delicious.

The spiciness of the chilli and creaminess of the fava beans complemented the dish, I would definitely recommend it.

My boyfriend went for the 28 day aged beef fillet carpaccio which came with some colourful salad and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

For my main course, I opted for the free range, corn fed chicken supreme which came with grilled sweet potatoes and caponata sauce.

This might seem like an unusual choice at a restaurant known for steak but I urge anyone visiting this restaurant to try it.

The chicken was moist and flavourful and the potato was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside and the sauce it came with was sweet, peppery and punchy.

I chose a side of mashed potatoes with garlic mushrooms to go with it and as a lover of garlic, I can confidently say it was amazing.

While there are numerous cuts of steak to choose from, my boyfriend chose the Hereford fillet steak, the red wine steak sauce and sides of creamed spinach and mac and cheese.

The steak was exactly as he had asked for it to be cooked and was well seasoned and went brilliantly with the sauce.

For dessert, we both chose the triple chocolate mousse which came with raspberry and pistachio ice cream.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that instead of one mousse, the dish came with milk, white and dark chocolate mousses.

The pistachio ice cream was the real showstopper though – it might be the best ice cream I have ever tasted.

But, it is the atmosphere at Heliot Steak House that makes it truly special.

The buzz from the casino and from Magic Mike being next door makes the spot feel all the more glamorous and exciting.

Staff at Heliot Steak House gave us a second to none experience as well, they were extremely attentive and always made sure that we were happy and had everything we wanted.

If you are looking for a fun, interesting new place to treat yourself to an amazing meal then this is the place for you.
