The marquee at a popular Brockley restaurant is set to be dismantled next month after three years, with a celebration dinner to mark the “end of an era.”

Babur announced the dismantlement of the marquee next month, which is set to be marked with a celebratory buffet to “bid farewell” to the structure.

The Rajasthani Marquee, that has played host to many private and ticketed events for the past three years, is set to be dismantled on Saturday, February 18.

The marquee has served an integral part of the restaurant’s dining space for the last three years, offering seating for 55 people in their outdoor space.

The celebratory dinner will take place on Friday, February 15 and will feature live entertainment from Bollywood Vibes along with a welcome cocktail on arrival.

The buffet will feature a range of contemporary Indian dishes including three starters, six mains and two desserts, along with a mix of salads and dips.

Guests will be able to choose from options like Amritsari style cod cheek fitters with coriander mint sauce, or chargrilled chicken marinated in cream cheese and basil for starters.

For main courses, guests can try a classic Delhi chicken curry, or vegetarian dishes like mixed vegetable biryani or black lentils cooked in a creamy gravy marinade.

For dessert, diners can choose between a homemade black cardamon and fig kheer, or a barley and coconut pudding with golden raisin.

Tickets for the Marquee Farewell Buffet cost £45 per person and are available to book on Babur for February 15.

The restaurant will still remain open with indoor dining available to book including their upcoming Valentine's Day dining event on February 14.
