A Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with a sexual assault which allegedly took place in Bromley.
PC Daniel Beegan, 45, from Gravesend, is accused of sexual assaulting a woman by touching.
The offence is alleged to have taken place on December 8, 2022, when he was off-duty in Bromley.
PC Beegan, who is part of the Specialist Crime Command, was arrested on March 31 last year and was charged on New Years’ Eve.
He will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Monday (January 22).
PC Beegan was placed on restricted duties after his arrest and was later suspended from duty.
Detective Superintendent Victoria Sullivan, from the Specialist Crime Command, said: "This is a serious allegation and I recognise it will cause concern.
“Legal proceedings are now under way and it is important to avoid any further commentary while this process takes place."
