These are the best Sunday Roasts to try in south east London according to the UK’s top chefs.

The Times has named the UK’s best Sunday Roasts, with 25 locations up and down the UK, and nine London restaurants have been featured on this year's list.

The list was created by some of the UK’s leading chefs including José Pizarro, Santiago Lastra, Mark Wogan and more.

Three restaurants in south east London locations were named in the list, so here's what you need to know before you book in.

Roast

Address: The Floral Hall, Stoney Street, Borough Market, London SE1 1TL

Roast in Bermondsey was named in 18th place on the list.

Situated in Borough Market, Roast offers diners a “modern take” on classic British dishes.

Roast promises to “reflect the best produce the British Isles has to offer”, according to their website, using UK-sourced ingredients.

Their roast, served from 11:45 until 6:30pm, features starters such as signature scotch eggs with piccalilli or a twice-baked cheese souffle served with blue cheese and Waldorf sauce. 

For mains, guests can choose between cuts of meat such as roast pork, beef, chicken, salmon and lamb, as well as a vegetarian nut roast option.

The menu also features traditional wellingtons made with either beef or salmon if you fancy an alternative.

Finally, the dessert options champion some classic British desserts like sticky toffee pudding, jam roly poly and an upside-down apple tart.

The Camberwell Arms

Address: 65 Camberwell Church Street, London SE5 8TR

The Camberwell Arms was rated at number 23 on the list.

Located a short walk from Denmark Hill station, The Camberwell Arms offers traditional pub style dishes in the setting of an old-feeling pub.

Their menu features a range of sharing dishes including roast chicken, black pork, and roast lamb shoulder.

Hawksmoor

Address: 16 Winchester Walk, London SE1 9AQ

Hawksmoor was rated in 9th place on the list and was the third highest ranked out of all the London restaurants featured.

Hawksmoor has eight locations spread across London with one located in Borough.

Their roast menu features dishes like slow roast rump served with dripping roast potatoes, vegetables and Yorkshire pudding.
