London Ambulance Service has issued an update after a stabbing in Bexley yesterday afternoon.

London Ambulance Service was called yesterday (Tuesday) at 4.40pm to a woman who had been stabbed in Penhill Road.

An ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and a medic in a fast-response car was sent to the scene.

London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched.

A woman, who police believe is in her 30s, was treated at the scene, before being taken to hospital.

There has been no arrests at this stage.

Police believe the suspect is known to the victim.

Today (Wednesday), police have confirmed that the woman still remains in a critical condition.

Pictures from the scene show a large amount of emergency service presence at the scene and police tape cornered off across a house.

Traffic diversions are in place as Penhill Road remains closed in both directions this morning.

Forensic officers arrived at the scene of the crime just before 10.30am today (January 17).

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called yesterday (16 January) at 4:40pm to reports of an incident on Penhill Road, Bexley.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and a medic in a fast-response car.

“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a woman at the scene, before taking her to a major trauma centre.”
