A driver gave police the middle finger moments after he narrowly avoided a crash with a learner.
Gintautas Cibulskis, 46, tried to overtake a police car on Whinchat Road in Plumstead on March 6 last year, a court heard.
But as he turned the bend a learner driver was coming straight at him in the oncoming lane.
Cibulskis had to perform an emergency stop in his Vauxhall Astra, as did the learner driver, court documents state.
As he then pulled parallel to the police car he showed officers his middle finger while shouting.
Cibulskis, of Erebus Drive in Thamesmead, pleaded not guilty to an offence of driving without due care and attention.
However, at Bromley Magistrates’ Court he was found guilty of the offence.
On January 2 he was fined £220, told to pay a £88 surcharge and £620 in costs.
He was given three points on his driving licence.
