Firefighters have rescued six people from a fire at a block of flats in Erith.
London Fire Brigade was called to a block of flats on fire on Northend Road at 8.42pm on Saturday (January 6).
Part of a communal area on the second floor was damaged by the fire.
One person left the building before firefighters arrived at the scene.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued six people and there has been no reports of any injuries.
The fire was under control just after 9.30pm.
Crews from Erith, Bexley, Plumstead and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters tackled a fire at a block of flats on Northend Road in Erith.
“Part of a communal area on the second floor was damaged by the fire.
“One person left the building before the arrival of the Brigade.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued six people.
“There were no reports of any injuries.
“The Brigade was called at 2042 and the fire was under control by 2132.
“Firefighters from Erith, Bexley, Plumstead and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
