A suspect is on the loose after two people were taken to hospital following a stabbing in Erith.

Police and London Ambulance Service were called to Alexandra Road just after 1pm yesterday (January 3).

Two men, believed to be aged in their 30s, were found with stab wounds.

They were treated at the scene and then taken to hospital.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are urgently searching for the suspect or suspects, but no arrests have been made yet.

The crime scene remains in place and police are in the area.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Two people have been taken to hospital following an incident on Alexandra Road in Erith on Wednesday, 3 January.

“Police were called to the scene at 1.12pm alongside medics from LAS.

“Those injured – believed to be men aged in their 30s – were treated at the scene for stab wounds and taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“No arrests have been made at this time but urgent enquiries are taking place to locate the suspect[s].

“The scene will remain in place and officers will be in the area.
