A thief twice entered the storage area of a pub in Woolwich and stole large amounts of spirits.

David Farrell, 51, first stole from the Dial Arch pub opposite Woolwich Arsenal station on October 22 last year.

He entered the storage area of the pub and stole £225 of spirits.

One week later, on October 29, he returned and stole another £225 of booze.

Farrell, of Genesta Road in Plumstead, was then arrested on Sunday (December 30) and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

On Tuesday (January 2) Farrell appeared Bexley Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and possession of Class A drugs.

He was given a 36-week sentence, with 20 weeks to be spent in prison before he is released on licence.
