A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a woman was stabbed to death on Christmas Eve in Bermondsey.

On December 24 at around 10:03pm police were called to a property in Spenlow House in Jamaica Road where a woman had been stabbed.

Officers attended the scene with paramedics from London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

22-year-old Kacey Clarke died at the scene.

A post-mortem exam gave cause of death as a single sharp force trauma to the chest.

The 16-year-old boy arrested on the night of the attack is now due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today (December 28) charged with murder.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10pm on 24 December to reports of a stabbing in Jamaica Road, Bermondsey.

“We sent an ambulance crew, two paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team in car from London’s Air Ambulance.

“The first paramedic arrived in less than five minutes.

“Despite the extensive efforts to save her, the patient sadly died at the scene.”
