A lorry has become stuck under a bridge in Catford leading to road closures and travel disruptions.

Today (December 16) at around 2:15pm, Metropolitan Police were called to Catford Bridge.

They attended the scene along with crews from London Fire Brigade.

A lorry had become “stuck” under Catford Bridge.

Road closures are in place and an operation to remove the lorry is currently underway.

Metropolitan Police has confirmed that there are no reported injuries.

The incident has also affected several Thameslink services with no trains currently able to run to and from Catford Bridge resulting in some line closures.

According to AA Maps, the A205 South Circular both ways from A212 Catford Hill to Ravensbourne Park is closed with heavy traffic and congestion.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 14:16hrs after a lorry became stuck under Catford Bridge SE6.

“Road closures are in place while LFB work to remove the lorry.

“No reports of any injuries.”
