One person has been treated for injuries following a crash in New Eltham this morning.

At around 6:30am today (December 14) Metropolitan Police were called to Southwood Road in New Eltham to a crash involving two cars.

One person was treated for injuries at the scene before being taken to hospital, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

According to AA Maps, the road was blocked and a detour was put in place, with bus routes 160, 162 and 314 on diversion, and traffic queueing into town from the Sidcup Bypass by Flamingo Park.

One mile traffic queues are currently being reported by AA Maps on the A20 into town at B263 Green Lane.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at about 06:30hrs on Thursday, 14 December to reports of a collision involving two cars on Southwood Road in New Eltham.

“Emergency services attended.

“One person was treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called today (14 December) at 6:37am to reports of a road traffic collision between two cars on Sidcup Road, SE9.

“We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene.

“We treated a man at the scene, before taking him to hospital.”
