A man from Catford has been charged after Kent Police seized cocaine from a hire car in Kent.

On Saturday, December 9 constables were in the Otford area and saw a rented Toyota Prius travelling through the village.

They suspected the occupant of the vehicle may be involved in the supply of class A drugs so they stopped it for a search.

A quantity of cash was then seized from a wallet and nine bags of cocaine were recovered from the centre console.

The driver was arrested and taken into custody.

Blerim Bushgjokaj, of Ringstead Road in Catford, was later charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply and driving without insurance.

The 23-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 11.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “A man has been charged with drug dealing offences after officers on patrol seized cocaine from a hire car in Otford.

“On Saturday 9 December 2023, the constables were in the High Street area when the saw a rented Toyota Prius travelling through the village.

“They suspected the vehicle’s occupant may be involved in the supply of class A drugs and stopped it for the purpose of a search.

“A quantity of cash was seized from a wallet and nine bags of cocaine recovered from the centre console. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.

“Blerim Bushgjokaj, of Ringstead Road, Catford, Greater London was later charged by investigators from West Kent CID, with possessing cocaine with intent to supply and driving without insurance.

“The 23-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 11 December.”
