One of the perks of being a Londoner is getting the chance to live close to some iconic locations used in loved films and television shows.

You may not have known that there are lots of famous films that were recorded right on your doorstep.

According to the movie mapper created by Virgin Media, there are six movies filmed in south east London that you might have seen.

Four Weddings and a Funeral – Greenwich

Virgin Media describes Four Weddings and a Funeral as “a charming romantic comedy that follows the mishaps and romantic entanglements of a group of friends over the course of, you guessed it, four weddings and one funeral.

“With Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell in the lead roles, the film explores love, friendship, and the unpredictability of life's most significant moments, all while delivering plenty of laughs and heart-warming moments.”

Morbius – Crystal Palace Park

According to Virgin Media, Morbius is an “action-packed superhero film” that follows the “transformation of Dr. Michael Morbius, a brilliant scientist, into a living vampire.

“As he grapples with his newfound abilities and a dark hunger for blood, he becomes an antihero figure.”

Blue story – Deptford, Peckham and Lewisham

Blue Story is a gritty British crime drama that explores the lives of two friends, Marco and Timmy, who become involved in rival gangs in South London.

Virgin Media says: “The film delves into their complex relationship, the challenges they face, and the harsh realities of street life.

“With its raw portrayal of urban youth culture, it's a compelling and thought-provoking narrative that sheds light on the consequences of violence and loyalty.”

Rye Lane – Peckham (Rye Lane market), Brockwell Park

Virgin Media says: “In the bustling streets of South London, a pair of heartsick individuals, each dealing with their own recent romantic misfortunes, coincidentally cross paths on a day filled with unexpected adventures.”

Bridget Jones’s diary – Borough Market

Bridget Jones's Diary is a romantic comedy film based on the novel by Helen Fielding. Directed by Sharon Maguire, the film follows the life of Bridget Jones, a single woman in her thirties living in London, as she navigates her career, relationships, and personal challenges.

According to Virgin Media, “the story is presented in the form of Bridget's diary entries and is known for its humour, relatable characters, and the endearing portrayal of a flawed but lovable protagonist.”

The Gentlemen – Borough Market

The Gentlemen is a British crime action-comedy film directed by Guy Ritchie.

The film centres around a British drug lord who wants to sell his marijuana empire.

As he plans his exit from the criminal world, the story unfolds with various characters, including rival gangsters and private investigators.

Virgina Media sayd: “Known for its witty dialogue, intricate plot, and ensemble cast, the film combines dark humour with a stylish and fast-paced narrative.”
