A driver who appears to have been on the wrong side of the road has crashed into two parked cars on a home driveway in Eltham in a middle-of-the-night hit-and-run.

The unknown driver crashed into Susan Denny and her son's cars in the early hours of November 12 on Well Hall Road.

Susan was woken by neighbours to find her son Oliver's car shunted onto the bonnet of hers, with Oliver's car now written off.

Susan is still waiting to hear the extent of damage to her vehicle.

She told the News Shopper: “I just think it’s unfair that people do this and think they can get away with it.

“Somebody feels they can drive away and leave the devastation behind.”

CCTV footage from neighbours shows a dark-coloured car driving on the wrong side of road before swerving right and crashing into what Susan believes was her and her son's car.

Susan, an estate agent, uses her car for work and is forced to rely on a courtesy car while it is being examined by mechanics.

Her son cannot afford to buy another car as his insurance company requires a £400 excess fee if they cannot confirm the driver’s identity.

Susan says that traffic accidents are a regular occurrence on this stretch of the South Circular Road.

This is the second time hers and her son’s car have been written off on the same road after a taxi driver previously crashed into three parked cars outside their home.

Well Hall Road was recently downgraded to a 20mph speed limit by TFL in October as part of changes to 65 km of roads across the capital to reduce dangerous driving.

The Metropolitan Police visited the scene on Tuesday, November 14 and advised Susan to report the incident online.

The family is appealing for anyone with video footage or information on the car’s registration details to come forward or report it to the Metropolitan Police with reference number CAD417/14Nov.
