Police have been given extra powers in Bexley after reports of young people throwing fireworks.

A Section 35 was put in place within the Bexley borough from 8.30pm last night (October 31) and ends at 8.29pm on November 2.

The map in the photo shows the order is granted around Elmcroft Avenue, Meadow View, Burnt Oak Lane, and Hadon Grove.

A Section 35 allows officers to issue a dispersal order which can cover a specific area for up to 48 hours.

This means people need to leave the area and not return for a designated period.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Overnight A Section 35 was put in place in regard to youths throwing fireworks within this area of Bexley Borough.

“Timings: It will start from 2030 hours 31/10/2023 and end at 2029 hours on 02/11/2023.”
