Police have issued a statement after a two-car crash on the A20 in Sidcup.

The incident happened on the Sidcup Bypass near Frognal Corner at around 6.50am yesterday (October 14).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found three people injured.

They were treated at the scene where two of them were taken to hospital for further treatment.

Their conditions were later assessed as non life threatening.

It is believed that two males reportedly fled from a vehicle prior to police arrival.

Road closures were put in place as the incident was dealt with but it has since reopened.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 06:40hrs on Saturday 14th October to reports of a collision involving two cars on the Sidcup By-Pass near Frognal Corner.

“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.

“One person was treated at the scene and two were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“Two males were believed to have made off from a vehicle prior to police arrival.

“Enquiries continue.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called today (Saturday) at 6.49am to reports of a road traffic collision on the Sidcup bypass near Frognal Corner.

“We sent a number of resources including two ambulance crews and an incident response officer.

“We treated three people at the scene and took two to hospital.”
