We all have our favourite local pub that holds a special place in our hearts and its a sad day to see that pub close its doors.

There are many, loved south east London pubs that have shut over the years, leaving their regulars behind to find a new favourite spot for a pint.

So, we asked our readers which long lost pub they miss the most, and received a flurry of responses.

Frances Pearce said: "Black Horse, Catford.

"I met my husband while working there in 1979."

Andrew Crawford added: "Opera House, what a place.

"I have great memories made in there."

Beryl Hatton said: "The Leather Bottle in Belvedere.

"A beautiful building demolished seven years ago and still a pile of rubble."

Lynne Perry that the "Welcome Inn and the Yorkshire Grey" are the pubs she misses the most in south east London.

Susan Hussey seconded that choice, and also named the Welcome Inn as the lost pub she misses most.

Jackie Moore Leaney said: "King & Queen in Mottingham."

Janet Geoghegan added: "The porcupine."

Jimmy Duggan said: "Albany Arms."
