Wilko has confirmed the permanent closure of its store in Bexleyheath.
The chain fell into administration last month after it came under pressure from weak consumer spending and debts to suppliers.
The retailer will shut its final 111 stores in early October as part of the final phase of closures.
It has been confirmed that Wilko’s store in Bexleyheath Broadway will close its doors for good on October 5.
Seven Wilko stores in south London have already permanently closed.
These are in Putney (September 12), Orpington (September 17), Wimbledon (September 17), Penge (September 21), Thamesmead (September 25), Lewisham and Greenwich (September 27).
Five other Wilko branches in south London are also set to close.
The Epsom, Bexleyheath, and Tooting branches will close on October 5 and the Bromley and Sutton stores will shut on October 8.
The Wilko brand will not disappear entirely from the UK high street after The Range agreed to buy Wilko’s brand, website and intellectual property, with plans to sell the acquired brand in its stores.
