Greenwich’s most dangerous neighbourhoods have been named in new statistics. 

According to the latest data the crime rate in the Royal Borough of Greenwich is around the same as the London average.

There were 26,156 crimes reported in Greenwich in 2022 giving a crime rate of 91 crimes per 1,000 people. 

Of these 26,156 crimes, 32 per cent were violent and sexual offences and 24 per cent were anti-social behaviour offences. 

A breakdown of the figures by area shows the most dangerous area in the borough was Woolwich Dockyard, Arsenal & Charlton Riverside with a crime rate of 169 per 1,000 people. 

Greenwich Peninsula was the area with the second highest crime rate (163 per 1,000 people). 

The statistics from crimerate.co.uk also revealed the safest neighbourhoods in the borough were Eltham North (36 per 1,000 people), Charlton Slopes (49 per 1,000 people) and Avery Hill (53 per 1,000 people). 

Overall, across the Royal Borough of Greenwich crime was up in 2022 compared to 2021 and 2020 but it remained lower than in 2019.
