Laura Rose holds the Sheaffer 1 of 1 pen, worth £50,000
A COLLECTION of pens worth a £250,000 was displayed amid tight security at Bluewater shopping centre.
More than 50 national and international collectors, some from New York, attended the exclusive viewing at Webster's Pen Shop.
One of the pens, the Sheaffer 1 of 1, which is encrusted in precious stones, from South Africa, will be auctioned on the internet in July, with a starting price of £50,000.
Joanne Webster, a partner in the family business, who organised the event said: “This is the first collectors night we have ever run, and it was really successful.” Anyone interested in attending the next display should call Joanne Webster on 01322 624755.
