Two men are in hospital with stab injuries after an incident in Woolwich on Saturday evening.

Police were informed that a man in his 20s attended hospital with a stab injury at around 7.20pm (August 26) after a violent incident in Willow Lane, SE18.

Another man was also found with a stab injury and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Both individuals are reported to be in stable condition and not in life-threatening condition.

The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Those with information can contact the police on 101 quoting reference number CAD6348/26Aug or provide information anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At approximately 19:20hrs on Saturday, 26 August police were informed by hospital staff that a man, aged in his 20s, had attended a hospital with a stab injury.

“Officers established that the man had received his injuries following an incident in Willow Lane, SE18.

“A second man was subsequently located with a stab injury and taken to hospital for treatment.

“Neither is in a life-threatening condition.

“Enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.

“Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD6348/26Aug.

“You can also provide information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
