We have rounded up an hour-by-hour weather forecast as Met Office issue a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms to hit London today.
Today (August 18) yellow weather warnings have been issued across large parts of England for thunderstorms which may cause some “localised disruption” this morning.
This morning, a line of thunderstorms is expected to develop before moving northeast over the course of the afternoon.

The Met Office has also warned that some thunderstorms may cause frequent lightning in some areas.
Heavy rainfall is also forecast to hit London this morning, with some areas potentially seeing up to 40 mm of rain in less than two hours.
The heavy rain is expected to become lighter and more isolated throughout the afternoon with some possible brighter spells.
Warm and humid conditions are expected throughout the day with temperatures reaching up to 23 degrees.
Towards the evening clear spells are expected to turn into persistent rainfall, which is expected to clear by tomorrow morning.

Due to today's heavy rainfall, there is also a potential chance of flooding which may affect homes and businesses.
Homes and businesses may also experience short term losses of power as a result of potential lightning strikes.

Some clearer spells into the evening, but heavy persistent rain expected to spread from the south and west overnight.
