A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed during a fight in Thornton Heath.

The incident between two men happened in Woodville Road just before 5.15pm today (June 27).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured.

He was taken to hospital for further treatment.

His injuries were assessed as life-changing but not believed to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 5.16pm on Tuesday, 27 June to reports of a fight involving two men on Woodville Road, Thornton.

“Officers responded with LAS.

“A 23-year-old man was found suffering stab injuries.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment.

“His condition was assessed as life changing but not believed to be life-threatening.

“No arrests at this time; enquiries are ongoing.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said:

“We were called yesterday (27 June) at 5:20pm to reports of a stabbing on Woodville Road, Thornton Heath.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an incident response officer, two ambulance crews, and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

“Our first medic arrived in less than four minutes.

“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a major trauma centre.”
