A man who was shot dead at a holiday park in Sheerness has been named and pictured for the first time.

Sam Petrou was found having been shot in Fourth Avenue at 9.40am on Sunday (June 11).

After police responded, the 35-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 1pm on the same day, a man aged in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Two further suspects, a 42-year-old man from Sidcup and a 33-year-old woman from Greenwich, were also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

All three have since been bailed with conditions to return to a police station pending the outcome of further enquiries.

Sam, from Bromley, was described as "incredibly loved" and "never failing to put a smile on your face", reports MyLondon.

In a tribute paid to Sam on Facebook, one person said: "Some amazing memories with you, this is just 1 of many, you were like family RIP Sam Petrou.

“You’ll never be forgotten"

Another person said: "My brother man, where do I start.

“Played my first Sunday league match with you, drunk my first legal pint with you, from 15 when I was the jarring little kid in the pub and not meant to in there, you looked after me and took me in.

"I just want to say thank you bro. Thank you for letting me be a part of your story bro.

“Sam my brother, fly high you'll be forever with me."

Officers are continuing to appeal to drivers who were travelling through Eastchurch between 7.30pm and 9pm on June 10.
